Through With Chew Week (TWCW) was established in 1989 by the American Academy of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery, Inc. It is an educational campaign to decrease spit tobacco use and increase awareness of the negative health effects of using these products. TWCW is held the third full week of February each year. In 2008, the dates will be February 17-23. The Great American Spit Out (GASpO) is held on Thursday the 21st. Dedicating a day towards quitting will encourage and support those who wish to discontinue their spit tobacco habit. For more information about conducting your own Through With Chew Week, log onto www.throughwithchew.com.
