Appearances by National Chairman Joe Garagiola before professional baseball organizations and at major national meetings have been a powerful medium through which to spread the NSTEP message. Of course, Joe can't make it to every speaking opportunity, so NSTEP has established a Speakers Bureau. The NSTEP Speakers Bureau brings tobacco education and oral cancer awareness directly to schools, youth sports leagues, coaches, parents, state tobacco coalition events, and the professional dental health community. Compelling and impassioned speakers Doug Harvey, Gruen Von Behrens, Dr. Margaret Walsh, Dr. Nancy Williams, Matt Lee, Curtis Ansley, and Erik Hagen have recounted their experiences with spit tobacco-induced oral cancer to countless audiences across the country.
If you are interested in finding out more about NSTEP's individual speakers, please visit the links above for their bio and honorarium information. Due to the wide range in experience and notoriety of the NSTEP Speakers Bureau member, their honorariums will vary and are set by the individual speakers. Travel, accommodations and meals are not included in the honorarium. Please note that the rates assigned to each speaker are generalized. Each request will be handled separately and factors such as the number of presentations required, audience reached, and distance to travel will be taken into account.
