Margaret WalshMargaret Walsh, M.S., Ed.D. Dr. Margaret Walsh is Professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Science at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry. She received her M.S. degree in dental hygiene from Columbia University and her EdD from the University of San Francisco. Dr. Walsh has conducted extensive research on spit tobacco use and cessation, and acted as the Principal Investigator of three large-scale cessation intervention trials. She and her colleagues have developed cessation programs geared towards spit tobacco users in their own environment, with the mutual intent of promoting a social and behavioral change towards spit tobacco.
